2025 Renault Kiger Facelift Launched: A Fresh Threat to Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet?

I still remember when Renault first launched the Kiger back in 2021. It came in as a breath of fresh air in the subcompact SUV segment, stylish yet budget-friendly. But over the years, with cars like the Brezza, Nexon, Venue, and Sonet growing stronger, the Kiger somehow started to fade a little in the race. And now, in 2025 Renault kiger facelift has decided to strike back with a facelift that not only makes the Kiger look bolder but also packs features that I honestly did not expect at this price point.

The new 2025 Renault Kiger facelift has been launched at an introductory price starting from ₹6.29 lakh to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). And trust me, this pricing itself is enough to shake things up in the market where every rupee matters.

Design That Looks Sharper and Sportier

When I first looked at the updated Kiger, the front grabbed my attention instantly. The redesigned grille with Renault’s modern logo, sleeker eyebrow-style LED DRLs, and the aggressive bonnet make it look way more muscular than before. The LED projector headlights remain, but the bumper has been tweaked and now looks sportier with neatly tucked-in fog lamps.

From the sides, the silhouette is almost the same, but the blacked-out roof rails, ORVMs, and door handles give it a meaner stance. What I found particularly cool are the new 16-inch dual-tone alloys with red brake callipers in turbo variants – that really adds character. The new colors, Shadow Grey and Oasis Yellow, with contrasting black roof options, make it stand out from the crowd.

At the rear, Renault has kept things familiar with the signature C-shaped LED tail lamps and spoiler, but the bumper is updated with a fresh skid plate and the new Kiger badge. The facelift hasn’t gone overboard, and that’s what makes it tasteful.

Cabin That Feels Premium Now

Step inside, and the Kiger facelift greets you with a fresher vibe. Gone is the old grey fabric upholstery – now you get dual-tone leatherette seats in the top trims, and the white-and-black dashboard theme feels more premium. I liked how Renault has paid attention to details like the steering wheel now carrying the new logo and the subtle piano black accents.

Feature-wise, Renault has finally given in to demands. The 2025 Kiger now has ventilated front seats, a segment-first in this price range, along with cruise control, wireless charging, and auto-LED headlamps. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay continues to be smooth, and the 7-inch digital driver’s display adds a modern touch. Sound lovers will enjoy the Arkamys 6-speaker setup, which does a good job at this budget.

On the practicality side, the Kiger still offers a 405-liter boot, which is more than enough for a family trip, and the rear seat comfort remains one of its strengths.

Safety Gets a Big Boost

Safety has become a priority in today’s car market, and Renault seems to have understood this. The Kiger facelift now offers six airbags as standard across all trims, along with a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX mounts, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, TPMS, and ESC. For a car priced this aggressively, I honestly feel this is a massive upgrade.

Engine Options and Mileage

Mechanically, Renault hasn’t touched the engines, and that’s not a bad thing. Buyers still get to choose between the tried-and-tested 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines.

  • The 1.0-litre NA petrol produces 72 PS and 96 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT.
  • The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol makes 100 PS and up to 160 Nm, with options of a 5-speed manual or a CVT.

Mileage has always been one of Kiger’s strong points, with the NA petrol giving around 19 kmpl and the turbo versions averaging close to 17-18 kmpl in real-world usage. Renault is also offering a dealer-level CNG kit for the NA petrol, which makes it even more appealing for budget-conscious buyers.

Price That Shakes the Segment

The biggest talking point is the price. Starting at just ₹6.29 lakh and going up to ₹11.29 lakh, the 2025 Renault Kiger facelift undercuts most of its rivals, especially when you consider the feature list.

Its direct competitors – the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet – all start higher and don’t offer ventilated seats or a 360-degree camera in their lower trims. That’s where Renault has played smart, giving buyers the feel of a premium SUV without burning a hole in the pocket.

Should Rivals Be Worried?

Honestly, yes. While Brezza still wins on brand trust, Nexon on versatility, Venue on refinement, and Sonet on features, the Kiger facelift has suddenly become the most value-packed SUV in the segment. For someone like me who looks at both style and budget, this is a tempting package.

The facelift doesn’t just refresh the design; it brings Renault back into the spotlight with features, safety, and pricing that are hard to ignore. With the festive season around the corner, I won’t be surprised if you start seeing a lot more Kigers on the road.
