BJP Playing Politics Over Dead Bodies?
When asked about the BJP’s allegations that police never granted permission for the event, Shivakumar launched a scathing attack:
“I don’t want to react to any of these BJP guys. All BJP persons are nonsense. They are masterminds of these dirty things.”
He further accused the BJP and JD(S) of playing politics over dead bodies, adding that the state government is prioritizing the grieving families over political drama.

“Those Who Died Are Like Family”
Shivakumar turned visibly emotional while sharing interactions with affected families. He narrated how one grieving mother begged officials not to conduct a post-mortem on her son.
“We understand their pain, but legally, we need the post-mortem to ensure clarity—was it an accident or something more? These are the questions only health officials can answer.”
Government to Investigate Gate Management and Crowd Control
Shivakumar promised that a full-fledged investigation will be carried out, particularly into the gate arrangements and crowd management strategies at the ground.
“I inspected the stadium myself. There were a lot of issues with how the gates were handled. Magistrates will look into it seriously,” he said.
He further stated that CM Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara are thoroughly upset with the tragedy and have ensured a proper investigation.
