WASHINGTON DC, June 4

Indian delegation in US is making headlines this week as it pushes a strong anti-terror message during its high-level meetings in Washington DC. The multi-party group, led by senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, is briefing US lawmakers, think tanks, and policy experts about Operation Sindoor and India’s firm stand against terrorism.
The tour is timely, as it follows India’s surgical strikes against terror following the Pahalgam terror attack last year and at a time of heightened tensions with Pakistan.

What is Operation Sindoor?
Operation Sindoor is India’s retaliatory strategy against the April 22 Pahalgam attack. India conducted targeted attacks on terror infrastructure inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and along the border on May 7. These operations were in response to Pakistan’s efforts to destabilize peace efforts in the region, including abortive terrorist attacks on Indian military camps between May 8 and 10.
Why Indian delegation in US Visit Matters
Over three packed days in Washington DC (June 4–6), the Indian delegation is scheduled to:
- Meet with US lawmakers and Congress members
- Engage with American think tanks
- Hold discussions with policy experts and media
The delegation aims to highlight India’s security imperatives, demand global cooperation against terrorism, and expose Pakistan’s deep-rooted terror links.
“Every country we’ve visited has issued unconditional statements supporting India,” said Milind Deora, emphasizing global consensus on India’s right to self-defense.
Pakistan’s Counter-Move: A Copycat Visit?
Interestingly, a Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also in Washington at the same time. But Indian delegates were quick to call it out.
“There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pakistan is a failed state — a terror exporter,” said Deora.
“They’re just trying to copy us, but they’re a cheap copy,” added Tejasvi Surya, pointing to the fact that over 50 UN-designated terrorists reside safely within Pakistan.
Global Support & Geopolitical Stakes
The Indian side made it clear that:
- India’s security is non-negotiable
- Peace and economic growth are interconnected
- Global investors, including American companies, see India as a beacon of stability and democracy
“For India to thrive economically and for American investments to flourish, India needs peace and secure borders,” said Deora.
Surya went a step further, reminding the world that almost every major terrorist attack in the last 30 years has ties to Pakistan.
Part of a Larger Diplomatic Strategy
This is not a standalone visit. The Tharoor-led team is one of seven delegations dispatched by India to 33 global capitals, underscoring a larger push to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and strengthen global counterterrorism collaboration.

Final Word
India is no longer staying silent. With Operation Sindoor and its robust global outreach, New Delhi is sending a clear message — terrorism will not be tolerated, and the world must stand united.
As India asserts its right to self-defense and peace, the international community watches closely — and, increasingly, with support.
