PM Modi Bihar Visit 2025: Rs 13,000-Crore Projects, Power Plant, Bridges, Cancer Hospital and More

I have often felt how development transforms lives, especially in states like Bihar where every project means a little more hope, a little more opportunity. Today, August 22, felt like one of those days when I saw how the Prime Minister’s visit brought a wave of energy and expectation. PM Modi’s Bihar visit 2025 was not just another political trip, it was a package of over Rs 13,000 crore worth of projects that promise to reshape connectivity, healthcare, power supply, and urban infrastructure in the state. In Short

PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹13,000 crore in Bihar, including the Buxar power plant, Aunta-Simaria Bridge, NH-31, and Muzaffarpur Cancer Hospital.

He flagged off two new trains, launched urban infrastructure projects, and handed over homes under PMAY schemes.

The visit drew sharp political reactions from RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav.

The Grand Beginning at Gayaji

The Prime Minister began his four-hour tour at Gayaji, where he inaugurated the much-awaited 660 MW Buxar power project, built at a cost of Rs 6,880 crore. Standing there, I could sense how important this is for Bihar, a state that has always struggled with electricity shortages. This project is expected to strengthen the power supply and give a new push to industrial as well as household needs. PM Modi also addressed a massive rally here, where chants and cheers reflected both hope and curiosity about what lies ahead.

Connecting Bihar: Aunta-Simaria Bridge and NH-31

One of the highlights of the PM Modi Bihar Visit 2025 was the inauguration of the 1.86-km-long six-lane Aunta-Simaria Bridge on the Ganga River. Built at a cost of over Rs 1,870 crore, this bridge will directly link Mokama in Patna with Begusarai. I have personally seen how difficult travel gets in this stretch, and this bridge is going to make life easier for thousands of people who cross the Ganga every single day.

Adding to the connectivity boost, the PM also inaugurated the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of NH-31, built at Rs 1,900 crore. This road expansion is set to reduce travel time, cut congestion, and make passenger as well as freight movement smoother than ever before.

A Ray of Hope in Healthcare: Muzaffarpur Cancer Hospital

Healthcare in Bihar has always been a challenge, and I have seen families traveling to metros like Delhi and Mumbai for advanced cancer treatment. That is why the inauguration of the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Muzaffarpur is so emotional and important. With facilities like advanced Oncology OPD, operation theatres, blood bank, ICU, and modern laboratories, this hospital will bring affordable cancer care to patients within Bihar itself. It feels like a much-needed lifeline for families who have suffered silently for years.

Urban Infrastructure Push

Development is not just about big bridges and hospitals, it is also about making small towns liveable. Under the PM Modi Bihar Visit 2025, foundation stones were laid for urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,260 crore, including sewerage and water supply networks in Daudnagar, Jehanabad, Barahiya, Jamui, Bodh Gaya and Aurangabad. These projects might not grab headlines like power plants do, but they are the real lifelines for everyday life in small towns.

Railways, Housing and More

The Prime Minister also flagged off two important trains – the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma. This is more than just connectivity, it is cultural and spiritual bonding for Bihar.

There was also a symbolic ‘Grih Pravesh’ ceremony for 12,000 rural beneficiaries under PMAY-Gramin and 4,260 under PMAY-Urban. When the PM handed over the keys to some of these families, I could see the pride in their eyes. Owning a home in Bihar is not just a dream fulfilled, it is a step towards dignity.

Political Reactions

Of course, no PM visit comes without political counter-narratives. RJD supremo Lalu Prasad took a sharp jibe saying the PM has come to perform the “pind daan” of Nitish Kumar’s political journey. Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav called it a “shop of lies.” But when I saw the scale of projects and the joy of beneficiaries, I felt that politics aside, this day mattered to the common people of Bihar.
