Maharashtra Sets Ambitious Goal: 10 Crore Trees in 2025
Stepping up significantly on the state front, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made a bold declaration: to plant 10 crore trees in the state during 2025. The goal was identified during a high-level review meeting of the state’s flagship “Green Maharashtra, Prosperous Maharashtra, Prosperous Maharashtra” mission.
“Tree plantation must become a people’s movement. Every citizen’s participation is key to a greener, more sustainable Maharashtra,” Fadnavis emphasized.
This campaign aims to combat climate change, restore biodiversity, and improve air quality — all while promoting eco-conscious behavior among the people of Maharashtra.
On this World Environment Day, let’s put a full stop to plastic pollution and take a pledge for a sustainable future!

Acharya Prashant Honored as ‘Most Impactful Environmentalist’
In a memorable moment that was at once spiritual and sustainable, philosopher and author Acharya Prashant was conferred the distinguished ‘Most Impactful Environmentalist‘ title by the Green Society of India at the World Environment Conference 2025 held at Greater Noida.
In his speech, Acharya Prashant said:
“The climate crisis is not just outside; it’s inside. Glaciers are melting because our minds are burning with greed. Oceans are rising because our desires know no bounds. True environmentalism begins not in policy, but in consciousness.”
His unique approach integrates inner transformation with environmental stewardship, motivating millions to rethink consumerism and return to mindful, minimalistic lifestyles.
