Jammu, June 5 (Taaza Wire) – In a major bid to thwart terror-related activities in Jammu and Kashmir, the Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track) NIA Court in Doda framed charges against four people under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The Charges were framed following an extensive probe conducted by the local police and National Investigation Agency officials.
Who Are the Accused whom the NIA Court Frames UAPA Charges?
The individuals charged are:
- Muneer Hussain of Malwas, Dabra Pranoo
- Tanveer Ahmed of Nilsoo Kulhand
- Noor Alam of Baggar, Tehsil Assar
- Kunj Lal of Herani, Tehsil Assar
These persons are currently in judicial custody.
Case Background
The case was first lodged at Police Station Dessa of Doda district on April 16, 2024, under applicable provisions of Indian law for unlawful acts. Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mehta has confirmed that the investigation was conducted in a “very professional manner” under the control of Ajay Anand, DySP Headquarters Doda.

Judicial Progress
After the thorough investigation, the investigating officers filed a challan (charge sheet) in court. The court, on perusing the evidence that had been laid before it, found a cogent prima facie case and therefore framed charges on Thursday (June 5) under the UAPA, one of the principal anti-terror law employed to address the threats to India’s Sovereignty.
