With a major update to its bestselling SUV range, Toyota India has introduced the highly awaited Toyota Fortuner mild hybrid, named Neo Drive, featuring a price tag of RS44.72 lakh(ex-showroom). It is the first-ever Fortuner model featuring 48v mild-hybrid technology, which is intended to enhance fuel efficiency, performance, and lower emissions while preserving the tough Fortuner DNA.

What Is the Neo Drive Technology?
The Neo Drive badge, already used on models such as the Hyryder and Glanza, is Toyota’s identifier for its mild-hybrid offerings. In the Fortuner, it now adds a 48V hybrid assist system paired with the same 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine (204hp, 500Nm).
This system includes:
- A belt-integrated starter generator (BSG)
- A small lithium-ion battery
- DC-DC converter

Together, they enhance low-end torque, deliver a quieter driving experience, and offer up to 5% better fuel efficiency—without compromising on Fortuner’s off-road muscle.

Bookings and Delivery Timeline
Bookings for both Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive open from today, with deliveries scheduled to begin from the third week of June 2025.
